That is an idication that he break pad was not aligned propery/changed. But as long as the groove is not deeper than the wear indicator strip it can be used.

The concavity is more than enough to replace the rim, and you have what appears to be small slivers on aluminum coming off at the wear indicator.
Get a new wheel soon. (It’s likely cheaper to replace the whole wheel than just the rim)

Some rims are made concave like that. I have a mtb with Campagnolo rims made with a concave braking track. I suspect this is the case. Your wear indicator line shows plenty of life left in this rim.

Replace it. Rim defect appened to me earlier this year. I think I put more and more km on it because all pre owned rims seemed to be stolen.
I was still able to ride home and put 50 km on the dead rim. I can go definitely worse and I was lucky not crashing.
Replace it, as fast as possible.

Yep I’d recommend changing that out. Impressive…either you ride a lot in the rain or that rim has 30k miles on it, or both. Either way, keep crushing it.
