should i consider a backpack for basic commuting

but use the pannier more like Topeak MTX or whatever the big one is

but if i upgrade to a Ortlieb XL plus (maybe with backpack straps) for travel, and heavier, what should i do to counterweigh the front of the bike?

or consider even just wearing a backpack for shorter trips, but not for long travel and camp

how are these cargo nets and maybe tailfin straps

No. You don’t need to counterweight heavy panniers.

I’ve cycled with 20kg tool bag, full 20ltr Jerry can, additional clothes etc.

    All on the back rack.
