This is the 1993 rockhopper I abuse for a 2 mile commute to my job and occasional trail use

I know my cranks and chainring situation is kinda janky, does anyone know what crankset I could buy for this bike on a bit of a budget? Don’t need anything crazy just something cheap that I can really crank on, I really wanna beat on this thing but the current setup makes me slightly nervous. and would it be crazy to go 175mm on a large size rockhopper? My cranks are 170 and already almost clip the ground on some bumps and stuff. Just thought since I’m tall and live in a hilly area I could use the leverage. Other than that any cheap front rack recommendations? Im looking into something kind of low key but also sturdy enough to put a milk crate with groceries on.
