This is my 2024 Raev GTX, it's a 52v-28ah batteries, with a 1kw motor, & top speed of 38.5mph(governed) & an average range of 35-50 miles, but if you're pedaling & in a lower gears, you can get 80+miles in range.
I've been using ebikes/ bmx bikes to commute the last 3+years, once gas hit $5.00 I swore I'd sell my cars & ride bikes full time to commute, well being a man of my word, I stuck to it, & it most likely saved my life!
I almost died twice from Covid in 2021, lost my brother, who was pretty much my only friend, & had to retire from a career I loved, with $5k in savings & a 5yo son to raise alone, my brother was my only help with my son & like a 2nd father, as he watched him 5 days a week while I worked, so I sunk into a pretty deep depression during this time & the gas hitting $5 was the perfect catalyst to light a fire under my butt to take my life & health back!
I lost 80lbs in the first year, quit smoking after 35 years, & started to participate in group rides here in Reno, & was at first the weird "wallflower", just standing there & really not talking to anyone the first year or so, but slowly started to come outta my shell, & now I'm doing 3+ group rides a week, meet some great friends, some who are like family to my son & I, something we don't have, & I'm feeling SO MUCH BETTER both mentally, physically, & even spiritually as well & I'm a lot more less stressed, more happy, & not such a pessimist anymore, crazy what just "riding bikes" can do.
I ride over 5k miles a year now on ebikes, as well as bmx & cruiser bmx bikes, & not only use them to commute daily, I also got into bikepacking shortly after getting back into the hobby & absolutely love it, if any of you are on the fence about buying a bike/ebike to commute, especially if you live in a city, or somewhere rural, I highly recommend it, it's literally LIFE CHANGING & all for the better! 👍💯
