Yes, great to cruise those. I swapped the Simplex stuff for SunTour…notice the ubiquitous crack on the chain-ring shifter yolk. Hard to find one that is intact. Called; “Delrin”, it dries out, shrinks and self-tightens to crack itself; not good for shifter clamps on a bike tube.

Did you have any problems getting the crank off? After seeing some videos, I’m not sure I want to get into those French bikes. I came across one too. Did you keep it with original size tires, or 700c ? It looks like you could shave off 3 or 4 pounds replacing the handlebars and seat post too.

My dad rode that bike to teach every day for like 30 years! I wish I’d known enough to ask for it when he retired and gave it away…
Got one just like it even in white. Mine is a 72. I’ve had it for just over 50 years. 100 % original, even the bar tape.
