This cranksets bolt on an old Giant Talon 3 given to me by a friend for a cheap price has been completely stripped and ruined beyond measure. What can i do to get this crankset off?
Take it to a car shop, they probably have the tools with enough violence in them. That crankset is toast anyway.

can you get the screw out? if so, you can try bashing the crank arm with a mallet. i feel like it’s already destroyed so you might as well just go nuclear

I would just cut the BB spindles off with the cranks still attached, and then replace the BB and cranks. Cranks are already toast and cartridge BBs are cheap

Step away from the power tools.

First take the bolt out…

Take the chain off and zip tie the crank arm to the chainstay so things aren’t flopping around.
Use a cutoff wheel to cut off the BB spindle. To get the reach you need, you may first need to cut away part of the rings. It will have to be one that can handle hardened steel.
Rationale: You’re probably not really saving the BB anyway, since it has a bolt seized in it plus a lot of the other ways of getting the crank off, like cutting it near the taper interface, risk getting the cutting tool really near the spindle, probably impractically so. At the point where you’re fine sacrificing the BB, just cutting off the whole thing is simplest.
If you didn’t have a high-RPM tool to make short work of the spindle itself, at that point you should hacksaw the crank apart right at the spindle interface, which is easy because it’s aluminum.
