Does anyone happen to know what model and year this is? I can’t figure out exactly which year has white lettering on an all black background. Some of the stuff on the PX 10s in the early 70s looks close, but I seem to recall a gold background color. Also, any idea if that Dynamo is factory original? There doesn’t seem to be anything I can find in the catalogs that looks like it, though there are some years between 72 and 77 missing online.

Guessing late 60s early 70s UO8, or UE8 missing the fenders. The placement of the dynamo is messing me up though. They are usually mounted on a braze on tab on the seat stay. I am no expert, but have messed around with these bikes before. Interested to hear what others have to say.
I may be wrong here as its been a while since i had a similar bike. IIRC the calipers usually have a year stamp on them. True they could have been changed at some point but many times its in the ballpark.
Looks like an early 70’s UO8. Look at my post history, looks exactly like mine.
Thank you all! Trying to decide if I want to make an offer. It’s on eBay but it’s localish. I may ask for a test ride.
1970 – 1973 PL8, basic bicycle for that time in normal tubing
Looks like my 72 -u08, I’ve had 50 years. Yours has a rack and a generator and light. [Mine](https://i.imgur.com/wQZyzoS.jpeg)
Look on the rear derailleur cage for a date and on the rims by the valve for a date.
It’s a low end heavy UO8

That bike is upside down.
Gotta love a Peugeot though. Done many miles on my Elan
Model UO8, the classic “Bike Boom” item of the early 1970s. Based on the graphics, and the 52/36 chainrings, I would say 1971.
Thousands of these were made, it’s a solid bike, many of them are still on the road after 50 years. Worth restoring, but don’t go crazy.
