Yep. It existed and it sucked. Nothing like a plastic air hose around a bunch of flying sharp rocks. I did set one up once and the shifting was crisp on the stand in the shop. The seller is dreaming on the price. $1000 would be high but not unrealistic.

I believe it was intended for downhill racers and produced in limited quantities in the late 1990s
