So my son said to me earlier today that his pedal system is loose. After looking at it I see that the crank hub is moving side to side. Unsure I started tightening what looks like a sleeve that goes inside the hub. I can't seem to get it any tighter so I'm wondering if that will fix the problem, is there supposed to be something on the other side that also tightens and what do I have to do to get it tightened all the way? Maybe an easy method. 1st picture is the sleeve.

The threaded sleeve seems to have backed out in your square tapered cartridge BB.
You need to remove the cranks (using a crank puller. Aint no way you can pull it out any other way) and tighten the BB sleeve with the appropriate tool.
Remove, clean, and regrease the sleeve for good measure.
