planning to make my old SGM charles jerry a commuter for college
ive been reccomended to put a rear rack so that I would sweat less compared to just wearing a back pack
I have a mount on the dropouts, but no hole on top of the seatstay bridge
theres a different rack where I could clamp it to the seatpost and seatstays but there are cables on both sides of the seat stay, dont think that could work
while there is a hole on the bridge, its underneath and only underneath.
any solutions or maybe adaptors that could solve this? or maybe I should just go for a front rack?
thanks

You could get a seatpost clamp/collar that has eyelets for rack arms to attach to. Something like this:
