Doing day trips currently as I get sucked in deeper and deeper into the hobby – so much to learn and adjust for actual overnighters.

Depends a bit where you go, but for a local overnighter you really only need a tent/Bivvy/tarp and a sleeping bag extra. Situationally you might need to take food if you’re not going to be close to any shops. I’m guilty of overthinking it for far too long myself, but it’s really not much more to it than a day trip!
