Started bike commuting 2 years ago. Got an e-bike and it was great as I could commute without having too much impact on my run training (I love running). Despite being pretty fit I was still quite tired by the end of the week, even with the pedal assist. Different muscles I guess!
Anyway, my bike fitness has improved and from mid May I’ve been using my old backup mountain bike rather than the e-bike, mainly as an experiment to see if I can manage without. E-bike will need a new bottom bracket and full service at some point and the cost was looking ridiculous.
Commute on the backup bike was only taking me 3-5 mins longer than on the e-bike so it wasn’t costing me much in time, and I managed to sustain my running fine, so last week I bit the bullet and sold the e-bike and bought this from my LBS.
She’s a joy to ride and far more appropriate for my commute route than my gravel e-bike (mainly bridleway and it’s been horrendous this year with the weather).
I think e-bike to manual bike is normally the opposite way for many commuters so thought I’d share!

Great decision!
