[Music] Neil we’re into the half of tomorrow’s draw but nil nil draw this afternoon just how disappointed were you with the side’s performance uh yeah really frustrated probably as disappointed as the fans were um after the game um you know you don’t expect the opposition in the FA Cup to lay down they they had a game plan they came they’re frustrated as first half I mean we couldn’t have played any more tepid or slow if we’d have tried uh everything we’d done was working on our buildup play but you know at no point in training do we ever say play Slow everything’s to create an overload to go quick to be dynamic you know we I don’t think we got Crossing from the left hand side in the first half because everyone wanted to come to feet no one want to running behind you know it’s it’s a mentality and the second half probably similar Hold Up play probably wasn’t good enough um turn the ball over to often had decision Mak we’ got in so many good positions and final pass was over hit final ball was the wrong choice um and then when we did create the chances the technique on the Finish was not good enough and miss so but that side of things is football it happens I’m frustrated at the lack of intensity you I just said then Ryan ffield is week in week out our most dynamic player how many times he got to the B line to put across in and you look around and go how many others play with that intensity you know whether his quality is great when he gets there at times but you know if everybody plays at that intensity wouldd be a decent team and at the moment people turn up you don’t know what you’re going to get one week from the next in the way that they they work and that’s the frustrating part and you talk about intensity there obviously they play two leagues below us do you think that the full-time status of US today should have been enough to obviously Fitness wise as well to try and game wore on I knew in the last half hour we should get stronger in the game which I thought we did because most of the chances came in the last half hour but we didn’t take them you know if we take them you go okay wasn’t great but you ground them down and you won 2-0 or whatever it is with the chances we had but we lack that quality and if you lack quality and then you don’t play with enough intensity it’s not really a good combination and six six Subs sorry named on the bench from possible seven just how the current Squad shaping up with the injuries at the minute well like I said before I said in the Press on Thursday Callum Al rolled his ankle um you know Callum Harriet as you know we haven’t been out get him sort of training for longer than two or three weeks at a time you know he’s gone in with his hamstring uh and then you know stotty can’t play because middles won’t let him no and Mary so all of a sudden you there’s four players from the squad and I think we’ve got 12 on the injury list but I’ve alluded to that before you know we’ve ended up having Saturday Tuesday for three weeks and you know the robustness in the squad isn’t there and people F fail by the wayside and just a word on neita Market this afternoon just how hard did they make it to actually play against no this I did my homeor I I said to the lads before the game if your motivation levels aren’t at need in markets then um forget it you know and again did we run hard enough today to get the win I don’t think we did you know I say I praise Ryan ffield because I think he did he galloped up and down the right he tried to make things happen too many other players don’t and they know they are and only they can change it I can keep pushing and pushing them but if they don’t run hard enough we’ll have to try and get people in who do run hard enough because in football everything quality with the ball decision making is massive if you do not run and work hard off the ball and with the ball you you won’t you won’t break teams down and be consistent and with the replay to come on Tuesday night you would have faced a trip to eastley next Saturday you would have had a full week to prepare for that how does this replay now kind of affect like preparation massively annoys me that we’ve got to go down there we needed two four weeks we needed to train properly we needed to get working to the lads and they’ve put us with the performance today into a situation where we can’t do that and then we’ve got a travel there then we’ve got a travel to easty then we’ got travel Chesterfield so you know we’ve got an incredibly tough schedule now because of the way we perform today and that frustrates the life out of me

  1. He is right about Fallowfield probably our best player overall this season bar perhaps Dipo I like Crookes as well but just back from injury. Is it complacency due to lack of competition for places? Hard to pin it down.

  2. How can you play dynamic passing sideways and backwards, coupled with a lack of ball control and poor finishing. Full time pros against part time players playing in two divisions lower. These City players should take a look in the mirror, absolutely pathetic.

  3. I agree with all NA's comments.
With a few, very good, exceptions this is not a squad he would have chosen himself.
He's inherited them all. The players from Askey's time, even according to JA himself, were not quite good enough. So Neal has a task a bit like pre-season without the luxury of time to establish a way of playing. However, he has still been able to get some sort of way of playing out of the squad. In the absence of much top class ability, the players have to "run through walls". They didn't do this today and looked poor.
I've no doubt that Ardley will get the best out of these players and win on Tuesday. I also think there'll be some rebuilding and squad changes soon.

  4. Never ever excuses from Neal but straight talking commonsense I and am sure all City fans hope Neal will be fully backed by the club enabling him to bring in anyone he feels will strengthen the squad and build his team which will bring positive results and success 😊
