To start I used to ride dirt bikes as a kid, and I still ride my gravel bike on trails, can bunny hop over stuff. So not totally new.

I am 6'6 ~220lbs

Will be mostly aggressively riding flat trails and hitting some downhill spots in my area of flattish North West. So moderate downhill? I don't live in San Diego or something so not sure how capable the bike has to be.

  1. Not enough info here to actually help you. What exactly do you mean by flattish trails and some downhill spots? Can you give us specific trail networks? Does downhill spots mean bike parks?

You should check out your local bike shops too. I know all the ones around me are trying to get slightly older models of their bikes out for a good discount. There’s actually a Trance X 29 2 for about $1999 so check them out when you have time!
