Handlebar bag cable management question

Hi,

I have this Topeak handlebar bag but my bike has cantilever brakes. When I tie the bag to the headset to keep it steady it pulls on my front brake cable.

Has anybody had the same issue, and how did you solve it? Make some kind of spacer? Or just let the bag dangle a little?
