So ive decided its time to ditch my cassette for a flip flop hub or fixed gear.
This is my first road bike($80 commuter) and i only have about a 3 mile commute but i am looking to torture myself on the weekends when i am not mtbing.
So far my front wheel (unsealed bearings) have nuked themselves and i would like to upgrade to something just not ready for carbon or disc brakes.
-
Wheel set – looking for aluminum tubeless 19mm internal (please yell at me if im getting this wrong) flip flup hub or fixed gear- looking for advice
-
Cranks- i have no clue what im looking for may recycle the ones on the bike.
-
Bars – i come from mtb and ive seen some wack jobs put those bars on these bikes (calling those wack jobs. Do you like it?)
-
I do plan on flipping this bike once i am sufficiently happy with the build quality. Would you rather buy a Univega conversion (leave as is) or a sandblasted bastard stepchild passion project (take down to metal and clear coat)?
Honestly any pointers/personal preferences would be much appreciated.

Before you sink any time or money into this:
You said you’re planning to flip this bike. There is no way in hell you’ll break even on this project, let alone make money.
Build it if you want to ride it.
I had one it was the competizione model. I liked it a lot. I believe it is a 100 hub in the front and 130 in the rear. I had H plus sons on my with 23mm width an 25mm tires on it. It was stolen and I miss it
It’s too big for you
