Hello fellas once again.
As I keep saying I got my first "actual" mtb this year, a lightly used 2020 trek roscoe 7 which I absolutely loved.
Now I like to tinker with my stuff a lot and I got into thinking of trying some mullet setup since the front can take pretty much any wheel.
Considering leaving the 27.5×2.8 rear and changing the front to a 29×2.8. This ofc requires a new wheel but i u figured it would be easier to swap the front wheel since it's thru-axle ( the rear is that weird 141QR ).
I'll probably make another post discussing wheels as I haven't decided yet whether I should build, buy, buy used etc. Im considering the DT Swiss H1900 35mm and a friend suggested the HX1700 35mm but it's hella expensive.
NOW back to suspension as the post states, the Roscoe comes with a Rockshox Judy Silver, which while better that any fork I had ridden before, is quite unresponsive to small bumps and Im considering an upgrade.
BikeDiscountDE has some pretty sweet sales on RS Pike right now.
- RockShox Pike Ultimate Charger 3 RC2 29" for 583 €
Looks like a steal to me unless Im missing something. Yes I know they now released the charger 3.1 but that doesn't make the 3 any worse.
They also have the 27.5 version of it for 416€ (!) which sounds even more of a steal on paper.
Now my questions for you MTB wizards
Would you:
– Buy the 29 Pike for 580€, spend some more to get 29 front wheel and mullet it?
– Buy the 27.5 Pike for 415€ and keep riding your 27.5×2.8 bike enjoying life?
– Buy neither cause the upgrade doesn't make sense for a bike you bought for 300€?
Here are the bd links for anyone who wants to look into the forks himself.

These are the highest versions of pike right?
Thank you all for your input.

Forgot to say that the 29 is available only in 130mm while my bike came with 120mm.
Will there be an issue compatibility-wise?
