um that has gone before however they are they have got a mighty task it’s germany lee sophie friedrich against emma heinzer oh sorry their minds they are units um and shanji bao and tayanshi shong face them china here are the olympic record holders and uh world record setters but you know i chuckled joe because i just don’t know the bounds um and neither do they mix of youth and experience but it seems that they constantly have somebody to to fill the void and they’ve got youngsters waiting to come through germany it’s more established to pairing but still youthful friedrich and heinzer you can’t pick between them but the favorites have to be china with such an outstanding time they may even break their own record yeah they were a tenth quicker in the previous round so yeah 10th of a second separating these two teams absolutely everything to play for this final race here for the gold medal huge raw we have a crowd here as well and they have been thrilled today let’s see here this one pans out point over this big rush room here maybe too much for tinchy shong we’ll see uh she’s gonna be playing catch up with her own team member at the moment who’s run away here is driving into the exchange oh they’ve got to be careful they don’t overdrive the zone let’s see germany playing catch-up at the moment china stopping the clock for the time being at least on the intermediate let’s see how close are we going to be bangor it was so close here very very close 85 hundredths in it china with a 31 8 95 not as quick as they went before but nonetheless it is gold what a final lap that was ever so close though on the line but delight for the chinese pairing winning the gold medal they of course won in rio five years ago one of the riders returns here and yeah that was a spectacular win over germany i almost wanted germany we’re going to get it back there that was a stunning final lap there um from emma heinzer but not quite making it on the line but both teams sub 32 both spectacularly fast rides but gold medicine olympic champions china gold medal olympic champions and selling a new world best mark as well earlier on today with a 31 8 04 they’ve got it all and more than that they’ve got a whole string apparently of phenomenally capable riders germany to come through in the next wave um germany here hindsight and friedrich i thought china had uh just messed up slightly and i’m still waiting to see whether the exchange zone was respected i believe it was but there seemed to be a lot of gap between them um at that exchange and at the moment nothing untoward declared so china have done it look at them looking at the clock they’re always getting greedy for a world record here germany came so close and i think the gap was just a bit too much for china there they bridged it slight error in the run i would suggest but hey the result’s the same they’ve got themselves a gold medal they hold the world record having set it getting to that final doesn’t get much better it doesn’t so taking the time here to celebrate now really lapping this up it is nice that we have got a bit of crowd here in this fella dream it makes such a difference for the riders um i think it would have been obviously it’s a real shame for anybody that’s competed at these games without any crowd at all but we have got a few here um out of the zoo velodrome so really nice for these brothers to be able to celebrate there and really enjoy this moment like you say new world record new olympic record today is it’s been a good evening out for them at the velodrome you
