I was recommended this bike from a kind user on reddit. It's basically like the Xtrada 6 but £170 cheaper. It has a 1×11 drivetrain, hydraulic brakes, 120mm travel etc. but I'm not sure about the overall quality and geometry of the bike but I feel like it's a good compromise for being 170 quid cheaper.

This the bike in question.

The question now (as I've never bought a proper bike before) is if Halfords is a good and trustworthy company.

Is this bike a good bike for it's price range or is there better ones.

And if I do get it, should I let halfords build it and if not do I need any special tools to build it myself.

Thanks a lot.

    Hello again 🙂

Prepare the fire retardant suit, some people don’t like store bikes, but I ask people to look at the spec then compare to the ozark trail ridge that’s getting the amazing reviews – I know I would go for the bike with Shimano hydro brakes and 11 speed deore.

And as I said, I’ve had Halfords bikes before, they are heavy but certainly sturdy.

As for having them built by the shop, it’s a lucky dip, more down to the individual – I’ve met some really good bike enthusiasts working there, and some right melts. Make sure you check everything is tightened etc!!

Good luck, over to the audience.
