Have you ever applied proofide to your saddle? That reminds me, I need to reapply mine.

Of course it does. Leather is water resistant, not proof. Especially when it has cracked like yours. Leather also needs some conditioning so it doesn’t crack like what you sre showing here. You can apply wax/waterproofing products on it, it will still help but eventually water will soak in those cracks and subsequently to the rest of the saddle.
