I’ve got a basic bicycle with Nexus shifters that needs a new chain and I have a 105 chain lying around – is this compatible?

Nexus shifter means you have internal geared hub, which are usually paired with 1/8 single speed chains, cogs and chainring. 105 chain will not fit on a thicker single speed cog and chainring. Get a single speed chain, their price is affordable.
