Hi there!

I am considering to buy the Aeroad CF SLX 8 and Canyon recommends to go with the Small size but I feel I am closely to in between XS and S. I have heard often that canyon bikes run larger than other brands. Should I stick to the recommended size or size down?

Unfortunately I have no option to try one in both sizes where I live.

Any thought is more than welcome!

Thanks!

  1. DarkInspiration on

Size down, imo its always better to size down. Even if your optimal position will be a bit off, you can still replace some parts to make the bike a bit bigger, cant do it the other way around when the bike is too big.

  2. Stick to recommended.

I think this is especially true since xs, i believe uses the less standard 650 wheel size.

  3. Stick to canyon recommended size. Sizing down may require a longer stem and due to the proprietary integrated cockpit, finding one of appropriate length could be difficult. The cockpits pop-up occasionally on eBay usually in the 90mm to 100mm versions. Canyon does also sell the cp0018 cockpit, but you have to call them and buy the whole thing if in stock.
