Istria, the north part of Croatia, completely stunned us with its lush green scenery. Very different from what we’ve seen before.
We took a few days of rest there in a small sleepy village, longing for some peace and quiet.
After that we continued our journey further towards the Slovenian border, following the Parenzana trail – an old railroad track turned into a gravel path. Gently rolling through the landscape we could see lots of beautiful old villages on top of the hills.
The air was heavy as we drove into Slovenia, our first border crossing without checkpoint. We rode next to the seaside for a while and before we knew it where in Trieste – Italy, which marks the half point of our journey! (We’re cycling from Istanbul back home; Belgium)
