My old 96 Diamondback Apex SE has battle scars and needs some love, but always cleans up nicely next to a mountain lake. Been wanting to ride from North Bend to Rattlesnake Lake here in Washington for a while and finally got a chance on Sunday.
Did 11 quick miles from town to the park and back, and though I was 99% sure I wanted to go 1x, now I'm rethinking it, as I went through all of my gears negotiating the slight grade on the way to the park, and made quick work on the way back on my tallest gear. It was so fun to ride fast and feel the breeze at top speed, and now I'm hooked!
I'm starting to out a parts list together for upgrades. If you have recommendations for a modern 3x drivetrain, I'd love to hear them.
