    What are you using for the single cog in the back? If it’s a cog from a split-out cassette, be aware that the thinness of the cog can dig into the freehub body [like this](https://www.slowtwitch.com/articles/images/8/59828-largest_01_Lightweight_freehub.jpg).

    You’re much safer using a cog specifically intended for that purpose, such one [from Surly](https://surlybikes.com/parts/cassette_cog) or [Endless Bikes](https://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=58932). The base is much thicker, & won’t gouge the freehub body.
