Waiting on some small parts and feeling this bike out.
Current weight: 21.2 lbs
I thought r/xbiking would probably like to weigh in on whether or not this bike should have a basket and I was hoping you all could provide some insight / options. I am not sure what I would want to see on there.

I need to order extractor caps from WI still. Meant to wait and post after…forgot.
Looking good! Bars?
Nice bike. No idea on a basket but one would look good on there.
You put some money into it! Nice. Nice bars too. Albatross?
I would put a front rack and basket on it but then I don’t have a use for a bike without one tbh. 21lbs is great. I think it all depends on what you want from the bike. If you just want to cruise with it and don’t want to use it as a commuter and/or grocery getter then there’s really no need for a basket and you keep it light.
For years the go-to for light use is to put on a [Sunlite Gold Tec](https://www.amazon.com/Sunlite-Gold-Front-Rack-Black/dp/B002MKHR6G/ref=sr_1_1) alu front rack and then secure a [Wald 137](https://www.somafabshop.com/shop/wald-basket-only-15-x10-x4-3-4-wald-37-5271?search=wald#attr=363) to it with zip-ties or velcro straps. Not sure how much weight that actually would add though (I never bothered to check). Somafabshop.com (link above) is having a sale (Must use Promo Code: jbrands24) on Wald baskets right now but I think it is ending soon. They have [several versions](https://www.somafabshop.com/shop/category/accessories-baskets-948?search=wald) to choose from. The “37” is the basket alone, without any mounting hardware.
Edit: [Here’s one of my bikes](https://i.postimg.cc/Q8NjbnLD/IMG-20200703-061213.jpg) with that rack and basket setup to give you and idea of what it looks like mounted.
