Looking at 2005 Specialized S-works Tarmac with dura-ace group set for $600, owner says it would need a tune up which is fair to say based on the photos. But any major concerns about repairs that would be needed on a 20 year old group set?

its worth half of that.
That bike is running the 9 speed Dura Ace 7700, which was phased out by the 10 speed 7800 in 2003. So if this bike actually was a 2005 model why is it using a groupset that was already obsolete by 2 years. S Works are mean to be top of the line, and wouldn’t use an 2 year old groupset. A bit weird. But maybe they were using new old stock, so it could he legit.
Also, just so you know that bike is mainly aluminum, not carbon. Just the seat stays, the fork and the seatpost are carbon, the main the down tube, top tube and chain stay are aluminum.
no
Not to me, no.
