Is this bike legit? An individual on facebook market place is selling this (2024 trek FX 3 hybrid bike) brand new for $900 but agreed to $700. Claims he got it from a retailer in mexico and that he has a couple. This would be my first bike and I honestly don’t know much about bikes.

The tubing doesn’t look like any of the nicer varieties I’m familiar with, and I don’t know of any particularly desirable bikes with frames made in Cambodia. It’s obviously brand new, so that’s good. I’d guess it’s a decent deal, but if you don’t know much about bikes you’ll want to bring it to a shop for assembly. Figure that into the price.
Also, make sure it’s the right size for you. How tall are you?
It looks like a Trek FX. They are on sale new for $900 right now so if you’re nervous about it just pony up the extra $200 and buy it new at a LBS fully assembled. You’ll also be covered with a warranty going this route instead of buying it off of this guy
Check the serial number at a trek dealer, see if it’s stolen. Great deal otherwise

if youre willing to spend 700, just go to a legit store.
