I always struggle quite hard to get my tire (Conti Terra Trail and now Specialized Pathfinder Pro) off the rim (Mach1 Pulse 17). Is there something I’m missing? I can press it with my thumbs as long as I want, I can’t get the bead into the tire bed in a “human” way. It only works when I get angry enough and press the tire levers in an unhealthy way. I also tried heating the whole tire and soapy water. Doesn’t help that much with taking off the tire.
The whole tire change gets quite easy when a tiny bit of the bead finally found its way into the tire bed…

As you’re working the tire onto the rim you want the bead sitting in that center channel. That gives you a few more mm to work with at the end where you’re struggling.
