Hi everyone,
Firstly, I’m sorry for my poor English, it’s not my main language. I mostly speak the “Google Translate” ^^’.
I recently lost my bike (stolen), it was a fitness bike (Canyon Roadlite AL 7.0).
I discovered recently the singlespeed/fixed gear bike, and wanted to change from a classic to a singlespeed gear/fixed gear.
Type of terrain :
My future bike will do mostly my Workplace>Home route (in a city, okay road no pavements).
Features about the bike :
I wanted a bike lightweight, but still sufficiently strong to sustain shocks from the road.
I heard about titanium, but I don’t know if there is a better alloy, but in a budget of 500-1000€ maximum.
And with a sportive design ! But not too flashy (it costef me a bike -_-)
Height/weight :
183cm/70Kg
Well, I wanted to know if this model, could do the job or if there is better options available (preferably near Paris)

Many thanks in advance, and sorry for the long text.

Titanium is a bit overkill for an entry level single speed. Way too expensive also for what you’re asking. I don’t think there is anything wrong with aluminum for an entry level SS despite the love for steel (myself included).
While I don’t know the brands available over in France as well, it might be best to look for single speed over fixie (or at least a flip flop hub in the back) if you’re just getting started. Not necessarily a must but some people find the transition to fixie difficult at first and single speed can help as a half way point. Nothing wrong with just staying at single speed either. Its my preference given more flexibility when it comes to braking and cadence.
In your budget range the bike frame material is not the main source of weight. Rather the components, especially the wheels and tires, are. Focusing on the frame material doesn’t really help much as all road bikes are strong enough to sustain shocks from the road, even massive potholes. It’s the wheels which take most of that abuse.

Try ‘all city’ bikes, maybe? I have a nature boy and I absolutely love it
