My first bike, an Endurace AL 7 finally arrived at the start of the week (cheers UPS for the delays).
Assembled and unfortunately rode directly to the bike shop up the street.
Gears not shifting properly in the rear and not moving to the big ring up front. Canyon advised to go to the local shop and was diagnosed with cable stretch and some limit screw tension by the superb mechanic.
BUT on inspection has found that both wheels have excessive play, so now being the middle man between Canyon and the bike shop to hopefully get the defective wheels replaced.
A ball ache. But the local bike shop has been tremendous, especially being a new bike owner.
Anyone had similar experiences and how was it resolved?

Totally normal after disassembly, shipping and re-assembly. Suggest learn to do these yourself, it’s going to happen periodically and it’s not hard.

What does this mean? Wheels have thru axles and cartridge bearings, how can they have excessive play?
