If you look at the two charts: DS3 & Marlin 6, the chain & rear cassette’s are identical.
So why can’t I put a 40T front chain ring onto a Marlin 6?
If I put a 40T & hybrid tires on an M6, then isn’t it essentially a DS3?

Maybe the chain stays are not the same shape? I don’t know for sure though.
