Car died and now I’m looking for a cheap bike from Craigslist to carry me until I get something new. The Schwinn is priced at $95 while the Univega is priced at about $150. Max distance in any direction would be 5 miles to commute to work and to the gym. Any advice?

The blue Univega mixti is the better bike but $50 cheaper for the Schwinn is compelling. Maybe offer 100-120 for the Univega and see if you can get any discount.
The Univega is a women’s bike
Either would work fine for 5ish mile rides. Both have some variety of friction shifter which are pretty bullet proof. I do like higher spoke count son vintage bikes for durability so the first one gets my vote.
