Took Some wheels from an orphan bike. The front wheel looks in great condition but im not sure about the rear one.
Before trying to restore it, is it even worth it? The rim is full of little cracks like this but nothing to see in the inside. Would you use it or be scared?

Rim is dead. Don’t ride it.
That is recycling. Not a viable rim.
I have ridden worse
These wheels are smoked though, not really worth rebuilding.
Spoke will pull out of that rim. I’d ride it till it dies, but I’m not known for any sense of self-preservation
I’ve been riding a cracked rim because it’s got an SS hub for a few months with high pressures and no issues. Eventually it’ll fail catastrophically, but as long I’m not bombing down stairs at max speed or riding down mountain roads as fast I can, the worst case scenario is big bang of the tube blowing up and a walk home.
I would not ride on that rim.
Boo!
It’s fine. You have 31 more good spots.
Slow speed drunkard riding until it’s dead. Wouldn’t bomb the city with it.
I’ve seen way worse on wheels that were still true, but I also wouldn’t ride it.
Don’t go faster than 12 mph
Great news, you’re getting new wheels!
I rode a rim like that for over a thousand miles before I replaced it. I bet I could’ve gone a thousand more at least but I didn’t want to risk it anymore.
I’m not scared. I’m sure I could throw it in the recycling without it hurting me.
It can fail catastrophically. Probably won’t, but it is a risk.
A new rim of that quality is cheap, and a used wheel.even cheaper.
Those are mod4 mavic rims. Very heavy duty.. and very old.
