  1. Don’t know when it happened, but it happened when i started to take the old racer offroading… Guess i have to look for some old Mavics now.

  2. It is probably fine, it should have a metal plate in the middle putting the two parts together.
    If it is pinned, it is fine.. if it is welded it failed. I would bet my money on pinned, but would also make sure.

    Just google “pinned rim rim” and put images.

  3. You may have also just exhausted braking strips life/thickness. Rims do eventually need to be replaced. Either way, new rim/wheel day!
