The electrical issue last night turned out not to be my adapter as initially suspected and Cosmin (our host) helped us resolve it very quickly.

I have been looking forward (for a very long time) to riding theTransfăgărășan (the road that Top Gear dubbed “the best road in the world”), but until last week we weren’t sure it was going to be open in time. It was amazing and the natives (wild bears) didn’t seem to resent our visit!

Don’t miss the lightning at the end of the video 🙂

welcome back to Ian Jill’s two up motorcycle [Music] Adventures last night we had a bit of drama I unplugged the microwave to plug in my laptop there was a Flash and a bang at the socket and all the lights in the house went out when I found the fuse box I tried resetting the trips but that didn’t fix it when We messaged our host he responded quickly came around and showed us the master switch outside today we’re on our way to ctia dares via poana brush off Bran Castle and a ski resort recommended by our host who is also a motorcyclist someone had recommended we stay in poana Brash off rather than Brash off but I’m glad we decided to stay in the latter uh Pana brov was rather quiet when we were there we stopped for a little while in bran but decided not to go into the castle the road up to the ski resort was not in great shape but we pled on after a while we discovered that they were actually repairing the [Music] road a little bit further and we were back onto a paved road which is just as well because it started to get a good bit steeper and the bends were considerably sharper at the top the views were indeed superb just as we had been promised [Music] so this is why we ride at a speed that we know we can stop safely on our own side of the road in the distance that we can see to be clear [Music] this is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone building a proper haast stack [Music] [Music] fascinating and then we happened upon a proper well with water in it which we didn’t try [Music] [Music] look yeah very nice [Music] and a nice balcony I suspect is there after we had freshened up we enjoyed a peaceful walk around the Tranquil grounds of the nearby Monastery and then I dander through the park which was on the way to dinner the next morning we were rudely awakened by the sound of torrential rain however by the time we had had breakfast a very nice omelet with all the trimmings and packed up the rain had stopped and there was even some blue sky which was just as well because today is the day that we’re planning to do the Transfiguration pass and I’ve been looking forward to this since we left home how cool is that the little Cub on the wall was playing with an apple dropped onto the road and the mother bear has come over to investigate is [Music] these guys were clearing mud that had been washed onto the road with the heavy rain we found ourselves stopping every few minutes to take photographs but of course the camera doesn’t do the view Justice and we didn’t want to bore you with every single shot as we got closer to the top there was more evidence of the snow which had kept the Pass closed up until last week and finally we went through a tunnel from one side of the peak to the other when we emerged from the tunnel we discovered that the valley on the other side of the mountain was filled with fog so we weren’t going to get much of a View today what’s that a hint Blue Sky yay we waited patiently and after a few minutes the fog cleared completely at the level we were at just for about 15 minutes enough for us to get some photographs amazing here we met grer Goos and piotra from Poland just look at that road I am so glad we waited for that Mr clear what an amazing view down into the valley [Music] oh [Music] a [Applause] [Music] so now we have our new favorite Airbnb thank you neo and Alex for hosting such an amazing apartment [Music] what a fabulous big balcony and a really well equipped kitchen with dishwasher fridge freezer lovely bedroom everything’s so new dry and roack iron table iron we decided to have dinner on the balcony this evening and we’re treated to a spectacular electric storm thank you for watching please subscribe if you’d like to follow the rest of our trip and give us a thumbs up if you enjoyed the video [Music]
