  1. I was more wondering if it’s worth saving the rubber grips? I’ve never seen anything like this so I was worried I’d be ruining something valuable.

    A few years before Motobecane sold bikes with this stuff, Cinelli made a big splash at the bike shows with leather handle bar covering that was stitched on and cost a fortune. The Cinelli stuff may have been made by Almarc. Other companies, such as Kashimax, a Japanese company, and iirc maybe Rhodes Gear, a US company also offered stuff similar to this. The bar covering on the Motobecan are basically trying to look like these expensive leather bar covering.

  3. The rubber on the brake hoods? Disconnect the cable and pull them over the lever like you are taking off a sock.

    If they are old, they will probably fall apart in the process.
