Found on marketplace for $65. It's a 20" gt that needs a little work but my plan was to tear down and rebuild with some nicer or updated parts and powdercoar the frame/bars/fork.
I don't know much about BMX bikes nowadays, but I've been looking for a summertime project that either I could use or gift it to my nephew/niece. Maybe sell it if it turns out really nice?

Sure, if by that you mean replacing pretty much every part. See the pedals, the kickstand, it’s a children’s bike.
Not really, the frame should have at the very least a mid bottom bracket. I’d say an integrated headset but one dude on here managed to press fit one or something on his frame and looks pretty sick.
For $65 it’s a great starter bike for a kid or someone who is casually into bmx. It’s not worth throwing a bunch of good parts or expensive paint job at.
You’ll end up spending more money fixing it than it’s worth. Whenever those GTs show up for work in my shop they are on death’s doorstep. Sunday or Kink make good affordable completes.
I see 3 peice cranks, 1⅛” steerer tube, and 14mm rear axle. Thats a solid starter bike with will be compatible with MANY aftermarket parts. For general A-to-B riding, it’ll be reliable with very little maintenance. As it sits, you could easily just tear it down, lube up needed bearings and put it back together and you have a great starter bike. Probably new pedals though, those ones look weak.
If these parts start breaking, you know you are enjoying the activity enough to justify buying those upgraded parts. You could repaint some stuff if you enjoy those types of projects but it doesn’t appear to be necessary.
Look into marketplace or the famous Danscomp website. 21” top tubes with 20” wheels are a common set up for adults or taller riders. Nice bike though for youth!!
Sunday street sweeper is pretty sick at the $799 price point if you’re looking for something shredable right outta the box. Sealed hubs, double wall rims, 3pc crank, full chromo frame/fork. Or you can check the used market $500-700 gets you a pretty dope custom build there. 2x wall/sealed hubs, integrated headset, mid bb, 3pc crank, and full chromo are all a MUST for me.
