Join me on the banks of the DDAA controlled River Don HMS Prison stretch in Doncaster for a look around the fishing pegs on this wonderful feature filled area.
I only Live down the road from here & have never fished this area but after this scout around I can’t wait to return with my rods. It screams fish & looks good for a barbel or two with the fast flowing water.
I will be definitely be fishing here in the coming months.
I hope this video helps with information If you fancy paying it a visit.
All the best guys YRR.

hi guys welcome to another video thanks for tuning in today I’m just exploring another stretch of river on the ddaa angling Club book got it in my pocket I’ll show you it later um yeah this is the Doncaster prison area really good very local to me and live just down the road believe it or not I’ve never fished this area can’t believe it uh but it looks really good it’s like um the river da sort of splits into two one bit goes past the prisons on like an island one bit the main river goes to the right hand side and there’s a little cut off channel that goes to the left where boats can’t get up but um this is the area on that channel and it looks really good some good pegs fast water overhanging trees I’m going to show you a lot of the pegs now um yeah and I’m can’t wait to wet a line here I’ve got them a member this year so it’s only 30 for the membership book and it last um I think it lasts all year so it’s brilliant I you get it from is it April to April I think it last or something like that but yeah um excellent area screams bar under fast water a little streamy bit looks good for Pike and perch and that so KS all boxes let check it out guys stay tuned so this is the gate from the prison to the stretch of the river Dawn see it’s duster District D Association track just take you down [Applause] here just follow this track [Applause] down and you’re right on the right on the way River you go that way few pegs that way and lots of pegs this way let’s explore it this is a nice looking peg this is on the tiny bit of water that joins the two main bits of flow as you can see over there it’s quite fast flowing nice fast water there that looks good for barble under them bushes and then just in front though this looks like a nice SL area quite shallow but looks of it but let’s good for perch and Pike and stuff in this area go down and have a closer look quite steep these pegs but as long as you careful you’re all [Applause] right looks really good there’s a couple fishermen fishing so I don’t to disturb them but yeah believe it or not I’ve never fish this stretch I’m I’ve got the book this year so I’m going to have to get on it on I brilliant let’s check out another PA de one to get down but it does look very good let’s give it a go that be careful here very careful [Applause] whoa could easily sliping this if it’s flood water very dangerous I’ll be really careful down safe this is the one right near the little Bridge there does look really good the widest bit of river what might be I don’t know 10 m across maybe you see the fast Waters coming out of there and this does a look good you can see how it pushes across hits this bank and then runs around here let’s go for barble [Applause] excellent but as you can see it’s quite a steep descent so be very careful going be falling down there that’s [Applause] um let’s uh move down a bit further down stream see we can find some more pegs oh this looks a great spot to dry faster water that’s what I’ve been looking for uh some the doorstep as well let’s give it a go so this is a track that comes out of the car park near the prison and then you go that way to a few pegs and then down here under this bridge back towards the main road see what’s down [Applause] here well we’re right under the bridge now let’s have a look down here again it’s a bit precarious getting down here Le just drag under the bridge oh the water Clarity is really good though this is a stunning [Music] swim I do like the looks of this bag few fish topping in front of me and all and just in the distance there you can see where is it three shoes P there just near North Bridge in Doncaster so it shows you quite you’re quite close to the main road on this B looks excellent there some my sticky up Rocky bit so could easy snag up playing the fishing a bit of a water further down see what we can find down here uh few n Bel camera and you can see track sort of goes alongside the river here another Peg similar to the last one probably can’t fish down here when it’s high tide these pegs will be close to the water’s edge I’m guessing off the about far as you can get this way see overgrown in quite a steep Bank does look excellent though there’s another Peg somewhere but I think got go back up to get to it let’s go up here and I got a a from the prison Ridge comes down there and hit the main river there’s a lot fishing on the corner so I don’t want to disturb him but I’ve seen this p on a few videos on YouTube pike fishing and that it’s where the slack hits the fast flow so it’s got to be good for an ambush Pike attack or something some nice overhanging wheelers doesn’t look too deep um I don’t the where the lad see how he’s getting on it’s a good peg this though plenty of room for casting get any further that way so I’m walking back towards carart now I think it’s some p f have a little look now down there well them Lads caugh he’s just pishing Spinners and stuff so far I’ve seen about eight eight or nine fish pegs so not loads and loads of pegs but pretty good feature fi spots so I’m looking forward to giving it a go when I can maybe go one evening after work got some bait to use up so I need to let’s have another look at the end the the thing in then for day I think my car’s inot so while while it’s in theot garage I thought I’d have a quick walk around scouting Mission all right see you a bit guys to this way I can hear a loud weel down Rocky through whoa whoa whoo goodful down here guys almost went in got this we this is the channel that joins like the main river was that the offside channel the boat boats can’t get up this way obviously but that’s got be good the job on it that brilliant and then Downstream of that lead into a real tight buy area I look brilliant for trying to float on that far side looks quite deep here as well really deep looks brilliant got to try this spot yeah I bet this some Pik the side wall and all good Ambush PL in it and that one over there looks excellent I would like to see this when it’s like in flood though F that it’s R through could beat you all got some fish on it also have a salmon I’m above the we now I didn’t even know this bit existed this is a section of water like joins on again you can see where the we is there and this bit looks amazing check out this read lined steady water screams Purge and you’ve got best bit perfect for disabled access just a ramp up and down there’s a little I think you can park your car there when they open the gate you can bring your car right up there so this is ideal for people and it looks really good and it’s like P you can pish this spot it’s a bit windy tonight but looks really good and there must be I don’t know 10 or 11 PS down here to do to do r with them trees have walk cover brilliant this check out this little secluded spot guys still on the one of the pegs look at this it’s like this bit of vegetation sort splits the river and it looks really good there don’t it for Pike and stuff look at all that little slack snaggy area that looks amazing for dead bating or BL fishing oh and it’s water’s really good really clear here as well you got to see any tankes maybe that’s excellent there’s a b wave there so there must be fish in this area that looks excellent brilliant that

  1. There’s some brilliant swims around that stretch, Pete. There’s so much to go at. I had the DDAA book last year and had some decent fishing around the back of the prison there, and downstream past the Three Horseshoes. If you search ‘River Don Adventures’ on the Maggotdrowning forum, you’ll find my reports 👍🏻
