I plan to bike this with a friend. We’re gonna take Bart right before midnight up to Richmond station and start there. We’ll cross the Vallejo bridge (which has a fenced bike lane). Disregard the detour up to 12; we’re taking 80 as it has the Solano Bikeway. Will take a couple breaks along the way. We hope to depart Richmond at midnight or so, arrive in Sacramento at 10 AM or so. We’ll have spare tubes, pumps, phone charger battery packs, plenty of clothing, hi-vis vest, bright lights, and red signal lights on the bikes. Anything I’m missing?

Why overnight? That part seems odd.

I don’t know why you’re doing it at night, but otherwise it seems like a pretty normal ride. Assuming you have some experience with what to eat on the bike and where to get water and so on. You didn’t mention food or water in your list of supplies, I assume you have thought about that?

I feel like it would be more enjoyable riding during the day so you can actually see some sights. Maybe start really early before sunrise?

I’ve always wanted to ride from Sac to the bay, good luck on your ride!
