Continuing off of my previous post as I was putting everything together and tightening the top cap (I usually do it by feel by the canyon endurace assembly video said 2nm) the screw didn't get any tighter instead going through the plastic top cap.
The top cap and screw look kinda weird and non standard but I'm guessing they can be replaced with a normal aftermarket one right?
Thanks in advance

2nm is the max amount of torque and the video shows the assembly process with loose stem bolts. You just tighen it until there’s no play in the headset, if the fork begins to rotate with a resistance it’s too tight. The canyon bikes have a clamp collar to secure the fork during transportation that should in theory keep the right preload but IMO it’s better to loose the stem bolts and the bolt from the transition plate and adjust the preload. Once the stem bolts are tightend the topcap and bolt only prevent rain from getting in the fork, so it’s no maintance part at all like the stem bolts.
Happens to the best of us, especially since it’s a flimsy plastic top cap. A regular top cap might not fit if you have an oversized steerer (which most Canyons have). Maybe check with your local giant dealer since giants also run oversized steerers
Did the same thing and this one worked for me. https://stemcaps.com/products/stemcaps-base-giant-od2
If you have to make that work see if you have a washer you can set on top since the stem bolt seems to have adequate length. Won’t look good but should keep integrity of the cap
