When I roll the bike w/o standing on the pedals, cranks spin. When I move cranks backwards, wheel spins backwards. But when riding, no issues. Is this the freehub, crankset, bb, or drivetrain or something else. Doesn’t happen all the time and to the same degree, sometimes when rolling and the cranks are spinning freely, they will stop spinning like normal. Thanks!

Anyone know the issue?

I would take apart the free hub and see how dirty it is. Usually after a bit of riding, dirt gums up the pawls and causes it to stick a bit. Take it apart and clean it, apply free hub specific grease or free hub oil (from experience normal grease will cause Paul’s to stick and not engage if it’s too viscous).

Otherwise it could be a binding issue between the free hub body, the axle, and or the dropouts.

Freehub. Something is wrong, it could be a cracked drive ring, it could be a bent axle, it could be gummed up and need cleaning, etc. Take it apart and see what’s up.
