Despite a courageous attack by the Swiss rider Elise Chabbey (Canyon/Sram Racing), the opening stage was ultimately won by the Dutch rider Demi Vollering (Team SD Worx). The team-mate of Marlen Reusser, who was absent due to illness, underlined her ambition to win the overall.

[Music] he [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] a [Music] [Music] n [Music] [Music] [Music] n [Music] [Music] oh [Music] a [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] up [Music] [Music] that was a statement today it looked pretty easy was it that easy as it looked like no it’s never easy but that’s the trick yeah to make it look easy then uh yeah then you do a good job I think you did a pretty good job how was it the race for you uh it was a strange race because it was so short and a lot of climbing in so you also felt a little bit uh confusion I think in the bunch like how do we do this but uh yes in the end it was a really nice race I think and uh it was pretty hard although it was short it was really hard last year you worked a lot for your teammate Marin Ro you helped her to win the CHC this time she’s not here so it’s on you to win the chees is the Big Goal yeah it’s really sad that we don’t have Marlin here she’s sick I hope she gets well soon and uh yeah I mean uh I really hope we can uh have another win here with the team uh would be great for sure but it’s on you now yes yes I mean I’m now good in the GC already no so uh let’s hope we can can keep it like this thank you very much
