I live white bikes but maintenance kinda discourages me. Apart from the obvious that it shows dirt and dust more easily, are scratches more visible? Any other aspects to consider before painting my bike white?

Contrary to common sense, white actually hides most dirt and dust better than black does.
As for scratches… I guess that just depends on where, and how badly you’ve scratched it.
My Revolt was an off white colour and it was pretty hard to see scratches on it. Oil and grease stains would show up on it but my biggest issue was there was almost always a layer of sealant and road grime on my rear triangle that was next to impossible to remove and it really stood out on the bike.
Brake pad dust is the worst part of light colors. Gloss finish makes cleaning so much easier. Matte finish pretty much only works for black/dark. I had a matte orange bike and it was a nightmare.
my revolt advanced is off-white and it hides scratches and light dirt pretty well. real mud is pretty obvious on it but if its getting muddy I wash it anyways. I think the key is having a glossy paint job. my matte paint road bike shows a lot more wear and tear.
I rode a trail that had berry trees all over. The entire under side of my ride is purple. It actually looks pretty cool.
I have the pictured lauf—I can say white bikes hide scratches and dirt better than any other color.
Statistically, white cars hold their value better than any other color for the same reason.
Light blue frameset, white tape and saddle. Looks great, and I clean it often.
