New rider looking for a bike to ride on gravel and paved roads.

These are some of the bikes I’ve been looking at. The GT avalanche comp is $700 out the door new from the LBS. The Jamis is from the same shop 720 out the door. And the trek 820 is from FB marketplace $200 used.

I’m leaning towards the trek since I don’t plan on taking it on any real bike trails. My goal is to get out and ride to help with weight loss. I am open to any suggestions on other bikes.
