Don’t have anyone to drive me to church tomorrow and it’s an important holiday and I’m kinda desperate on getting there lol. Am I delusional for thinking I could do this?
Well, how much of a beginner are you? And what’s your general level of fitness?
Here in LA, I regularly do 20-30 mile rides with around twice that elevation.
1,300 feet over 18 miles is hilly, but not crazy, and I’m sure you’ll manage it. But if it is as part of a training plan, I’d probably start a little less and work up to it. When you do a ride like that, you don’t want to be completely spent.

Only one way to find out.

It’s just kind of rolling, go for it. Bring a washcloth and extra shirt to fresh up when you get there so people can still sit next to you in the pews. .

It depends on how fit you are, and the nature of the climbs. This image indicates a long climb, which can be more difficult than a rolling ride, so start slow and make sure to get into the climbing gears early on. Don’t wait until you are struggling. Generally, it’s best to climb at a high cadence, seated for as long as you can.
Enjoy

Define bad?
You can do it, you may not be happy while doing it, but you’ll feel amazing a day or two after, sooner if you have some celebratory beers.

I have been riding a long time….I could do it on a BMX bike but I definitely wouldn’t want to.

Nope. Get some!
If it hurts tomorrow, wait 3 days and do it again, esp if the descent is fun.
