Yellow bike picture is with spacer under the nut
Blue bike is without the spacer under the axle nut.. for reference
I just wanna know if those spacers are even necessary. Doesn’t seem to make a difference in my bike at all. If anything I feel like it helped to take them off now my chain doesn’t be getting loose after short rides. That kept happening so I took it off to make my chain tighter and also so my pegs could fit the bike again. They’re exactly the same blue so they’re for that bike no point using them on any of my other bikes in my opinion. This is the bike I do wheelies on anyway so I like it with the extra weight in the rear and option for peg stands. Makes Better balance point for me. I’m just wondering am I making a bad mistake or going to ruin any parts by doing this? I highly doubt it would matter but I wanted to ask to be safe. I’m still pretty new to working on bikes

I’ve never ran the washers on any of my bikes, pegs or not.
Either way is safe. I prefer using the washers because the dropouts can get chewed up without them.
I use em if I don’t have the peg on but typically skip out if I do. They do have a purpose I think keeps some protective barrier from the nut chewing up the axle/dropout
How would your cranks prevent the use of pegs?
The washer is there to spread the pressure of your bolt more evenly across the dropout. I don’t run one on my peg side because the peg is the washer, but I wouldn’t run without on the non peg side because it can damage your drop out.
