The canyon calculator had me between sizes S/M at 177cm/82.5cm. I sized down and bought a cf7 red just before it went on sale. Canyon price matched without questions. After a test ride I knew I was going to need a 110-120mm stem and felt cramped enough to return it. Got a full refund immediately and canyon support was great. The sale ended on the cf7 and started on the cf8 so I pulled the trigger on a size up and feel much better on it. What’s weird is that I have a grail in size S and it fits me like a glove. Must be the geometry. I’m using an 80mm stem on the cf8 but switching to a 90mm for my next ride and then I think it will be perfect.
I have a trek emonda sl6 that I’ve been riding since 2016 but it’s always been too large for me. It’s bit faster on climbs and i dont know if the cf8 is a full replacement. But for casual and solo rides I really like the fit of the endurace. It’s very comfortable. I replaced the saddle with a brooks cambium (sp?) c17 and it floats on the cracked trails.
Maybe someday I’ll upgrade the wheelset, but the bike serves it’s purpose well already and im happy. Its exactly what i wanted and the price/value was amazing. Besides, no matter how much I ride or which bike i take, I feel the weakest part of my setup is the legs 😀. I don’t mind the extra weight to get stronger and can’t wait to take this CF8 out again.
