But it does seem to be a decent deal for 3k if it’s in good shape and no frame issues.

I mean, this is probably a $5-6k bike new(suspension isn’t factory, is it the Turq frame?) And he dumped new axs, wheels and other parts into it? I don’t think the asking price is unreasonable, but it is a buyers market out there. FWIW, I have the lunch ride version of this bike and I absolutely love it.

If the shock and forks aren’t clapped out I think $3k is a pretty fair deal.

I’ve bought multiple used mtb bikes in the past. If you can get a deal great. My most recent bike I bought brand new from a shop, best decision I’ve made in my bike life. Any frame issues, warranty’s, weird noises, they take care of it no questions asked. Additionally something about a brand new bike is amazing. If you can afford 3k I’d highly recommend spending a touch more for a brand new bike, the peace of mind having a shop support with that kind of investment is so nice. It’s a bike buyers market rn shops are sitting on A TON of bikes and willing to strike up deals. Good luck!

It really makes a huge difference what spec the bike is? It’s obviously not Turq. So no, I don’t think $3k for a bike with Fox Performance suspension is a good deal. Unless you MUST have a Yeti. Then you pay more than many other bikes that are arguably just as good. Find a bike with Performance Elite level kit. It’s got the same adjustability as Factory but costs less.

If it was fox factory I would say good deal but it’s tough to say if this is a good deal.

People like that can’t calculate they switch parts and just add the price to the package wich would only be correct if you also get every original part of the bike along with the current setup

It’s a good price for the bike if there’s nothing glaringly wrong with it. Personally I’d take it over an equivalently priced new bike. Everything people are calling out here – namely the mid tier fork – can be upgraded along with a full bearing service and you’d still come out ahead.
When I buy a used bike I treat it as though I’m getting a no-warranty-included discount, which can be significant. I wouldn’t haggle over something priced at more 50% off new, which my guess is roughly what this bike is selling for.

With nothing major wrong or any major repair needed it’s a good price. My advice ask for you paying for a local inspection report from a LBS that will act as an intermediary. If you live in same area this is easy. If not, you pick the shop and call them and explain what you want looked into and ask seller to
Take it in. If they won’t then they’re hiding something anyway. If they charge you $200 and say it’s a great bike and great deal you paid $3200 for a great bike with low risk. If they say it needs repairs $500-1000 you can negotiate price with or without repairs. If frame is cracked or suspension clapped then you paid $200 to save a headache. This saved me from a bad melon once.
