I’m new to cycling and just got a pair of cheap $25 aero bars. Not sure how to fit my bike to get best efficiency. Could anyone give me form or seat/bar position advice based on the pictures please? The bike portion is 56 miles.

In the pictures shown, I raised my bike seat from 4/10 to 2.5/10, and I feel I’m extending my legs too far and losing some power.

Slam that saddle as far forward on the rails as you can.

    Then, lose the jorts.

Not a bike setup tip, but a race tip assuming you’ve got clipless pedals and shoes with cleats for the 56 miles. Leave the shoes on the pedals, save some time on the transfer

  3. It goes without saying that you should have been working on this stuff weeks or months ago. It can take a couple of weeks for even slight changes in bike fit to really settle in. I hope you’re really good at the other disciplines because you’re going to be slow on the bike segment.

That said, you need to slam that stem or lower them as much as you can and remain comfortable. You are a sail right now. Lose the visor.

Is that your race clothes or do you have some kit? Those jorts will tear your groin to shreds.

Edit: wait, are those bike shorts that look like jean shorts? If so, that is pretty funny.

Get a fit at a place that does fittings. People on here can’t read the subtleties enough to give advice as good as an expert who’s there with you

  6. You can’t use your old picture from 2002, we need a new picture of what your fit looks like. Our bodies change over time and your flexibility might not be the same.
